How Does Aqualyx Work?
Aqualyx contains deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the human body that helps break down fat for digestion. When injected into problem areas, Aqualyx dissolves the fat cell membranes, causing them to break open and release their fatty acids. These fatty acids are then processed and removed via the lymphatic system. Once destroyed, fat cells do not regenerate easily, meaning results can be long-lasting when combined with a healthy lifestyle.
When Will I See Results?
Results depend on the size of the treated area and the number of sessions required. Typically:

Small areas (e.g. chin, jowls) – 1 to 3 treatments

Larger areas (e.g. thighs, abdomen) – 2 to 8 treatments
Treatments are spaced six weeks apart, and the full results will be visible six weeks after your final session. A complimentary review with your practitioner will assess your progress.
Are the Results Permanent?
While the body can regenerate fat cells, this process is very slow. Once fat cells are eliminated from a specific area, results are long-lasting. However, if you do not maintain a healthy lifestyle, your body will store fat in other areas where fat cells remain.

To aid recovery and enhance results, avoid:

What to Expect After Treatment
Immediately after treatment, redness, swelling, and bruising in the treated area are common. Aqualyx works by triggering an inflammatory response, meaning swelling may last for 3–5 days. If you are treating a visible area such as the chin, you may want to plan time off work or social events.
During recovery, we recommend:

Using a cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth for up to 20 minutes daily to reduce swelling.

Avoiding anti-inflammatory tablets for 48 hours, as they can interfere with the treatment.

Expecting mild tenderness and firmness in the area for up to 8 weeks post-treatment.
